April 2026 Action Alert:
Urge USDA to Stop Dangerous Slaughter Line Speed Rule
Summary from the Humane World for Animals Action Alert to reject the increased slaughter line speed rule.
The Department of Agriculture is accepting public comments on a plan to permit many pork and poultry processing facilities to increase the speed of slaughtering of pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other birds.
The current permit already allows high slaughter speeds, and this proposed increase could significantly threaten animal welfare and worker safety, making your input vital to prevent further risks.
Please join us in sharing your voice to encourage the USDA not to sacrifice animal welfare practices, worker safety, and public health issues that directly affect our communities and values in the pursuit of meat industry profits.
